More Stupid People

Seems the closer we get to the election the more the ridiculous people are getting. Last week it was Madonna showing her true ignorance and this week it is the extreme web site "The DailyKos" and Alan Colmes. Both are showing how extreme their partisans views are. It did not take long after Sarah Palin was named John McCains running mate that they were out trying to destroy her and her family.
The DailyKos is out running stories about Palins son who was born in April of this year is really her teenage daughters son. If you do not know Palins son Trig was born in April with Down Syndrome. This shows to me just how far this web site will go to push their extreme agenda. Nothing is off limits to them. The sad part is that people actually read this site and believe what is on it, and think that they speak the truth. These are the same people who will criticize web site who do the same thing on the far right and then will call sites like this the truth. The people who read and believe this site are just as bad as the people on the extreme far right. Then that brings us to Alan Colmes. In a post on his web site he came out and questioned is Palin had done enough prenatal care and was she responsible for her sons down syndrome. This was Palin's fifth child, I am pretty sure she was aware on what prenatal care is needed, how many kids had Colmes had? This to me is a very low acusations and Colmes should be ashamed of himself, but of course he isn't. If the tables had been reversed and Hilary Clinton had a child with down syndrome and Sean Hannity wrote such garbage there would be people calling for his head and calling him an out of control right wing hack, and these people would be correct. So where are the people saying the same thing about Colmes? To me this is not only an insult on Palin and her family it is also an insult to all mothers of a child with down syndrome. It is basically blaming the mother for this condition. We have come along way in fighting this, but there is no 100% way to prevent it, maybe someone should tell Colmes this.

This article is about the blow hard Madonna recent concert and her stupid video she showed during it and having Sen. John McCain and Hitler's picture next to each other to try to compare the two. This shows no class, intelligence or common decency by Madonna. I am all for free speech, but this is just one of the stupidest things I have seen. This show how little she and lots of people know. There is no comparison between a man who has fought for his country, a man who spend 5 years in a prison camp in Vietnam and would not take the freedom that was offered him because it was not offered to others in the prison. This is a man who has dedicated his life to public service. To compare him to a man who was responsible for killing millions of people is just absurd. No matter what you think of McCain politics every American, or any human being with common sense should find this comparison outrageous. This is just an attempt by Madonna to get some attention on herself and her tour.
I have heard other people compare President Bush and other such as Foxnews to Hitler or the Nazi party. To me this shows that these people are so closed and narrow minded. There are very few things that can compare to Hitler or the Nazi's. These are people who are so set in their views on things that anything or anyone that might be different then their views must be evil. Its people like this, from both set of the aisle that are dividing this country. There are many different views on things, if you can not accept another's view and have to belittle people or call them the most outrageous names you can think of shows more about them, then the person they are talking about.

This article is about the negotiations between the US and Iraq about moving US troops out of Iraq. It looks like US troops will be moving out of the cities next year with a goal of being out of Iraq by 2011.
The one thing that is not mentioned in this article, or many other articles is why now? Well the simple answer is one word success. There has been major success by the US and Iraqi military in the last year and half. They have done tremendous job ..ting done secular violence. At the beginning of 2007 all you heard was how there was a Civil War going on with in Iraq. Well you don't hear that now. Why? Because of success. The first being the success of the surge implemented last year. The added troops and a better definition of what they are to do, and actually holding safe areas instead of cleaning them out of insurgents then leaving was a major goal and lead to other success, like the Iraqi's stepping up themselves to stand up against the insurgents. Of course many criticized the surge before it even began. The wonderful Senate leader Harry Reid called it a failure before an extra troop was even send to Iraq, why so quite now Harry? Others like Nancy Pelosi and Barrack Obama were against the surge to. Neither has stepped up to admit they were wrong about it, great leadership there. Maybe they don't want to admit President Bush did something right, though it did take a couple of years to get it right, or the fact that Sen. John McCain was one of the ones pushing for this surge. But then again these are probably the same people who will call be stupid because I support John McCain, I know heaven forbid someone have a different view then you, if they do they must be stupid.
Another reason for success is that the Iraqi's have stepped up for themselves, there military and police is 1000% better then they were a couple of years ago. Also there has been major improvements in the political fields in Iraq. There has been great movement in the benchmarks set up for the Iraqi government. There has been more and more cooperation between Sunni and Shiite within the country.
So we are at this great moment not because Barrack Obama said he wants US troops out of Iraq, or because we are cutting and running. But because of the great sacrifices made by the US troops, and by the Iraqi people. These sacrifices have seemed to be over looked the last couple of months as Iraq has turned to a 3rd page story when things started go well. I for one am thankful for the hard work all parties involved have done to reach this moment. I will also give credit where its due, to the all the soldiers who are in Iraq and have been in Iraq, to General David Petreaus and his commanders, to the Iraqi government, the Iraqi Military, The Iraqi Police, The Iraqi people, and to President Bush. I know things are not 100% but they are closer to it then they were 18 months ago. Things could still go wrong, but the chances of that are getting slimmer every day. I know there are those who will criticize this success or try to deflect why we are successful and try to but a negative spin on it and not give credit where its due, I say let them keep their negativity and hate. This is one proud US citizen who believed we could get the job and very proud to see the job getting done.
