The Greatest Player ESPN doesn’t care about

Since ESPN doesn't to cover anything in baseball outside of the Red Sox or Yankees I thought I would throw my congratulations out to who I feel as been the best baseball player I have seen in my life. That would be Ken Griffey JR. Today Griffey did something only 5 other men in the history of Major League Baseball has done, he hit his 600th homerun. With the last 10 years known as the steroid era in baseball Griffey has never been once accused of taking steroids, unlike other 600 homerun hitters Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa. So if you take those 2 out of the 600 club that leaves Griffey, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, and Willie Mays, not to bad of company to be in. In his prime Griffey was not only a great homerun hitter, he was also one of, if not the, best outfielder in the game. Some of his catches are some of the top in the history of baseball. Griffey was truly a 5 tool player. Unfortunately Griffey's career has been mired by injuries that have cost him a couple of seasons in his prime. His Griffey has been healthy his entire career he would probably be approaching 700 at this point, and the argument would be is Griffey the best player of all time? Another thing that has gone against Griffey is that he has played his entire career in Seattle and Cincinnati. If he has been playing in Boston or New York ESPN would have made him a huge star. When Manny Ramirez was going after 500 ESPN would cut into program for every bat and talk about it for hours. Tonight Griffey hit 600 and still no highlight of the homerun. I for one hope Griffey does get traded so he can get the chance to play in a World Series, I know I for one will be rooting for him. So congratulations to Griffey to a record well deserve to man who did it the right way
